Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork (or ground chicken)
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- 3-4 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (plus extra for greasing)
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
- 1 tsp white pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2–3 tbsp water or chicken broth (for moisture)
- Garnishes: Chili oil, chili crisp, sesame seeds, and extra green onions
Instructions
- Mix the filling: In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, oyster sauce, chicken bouillon, white pepper, and cornstarch. Mix well until sticky and fully combined.
- Prep the dish: Lightly grease a small casserole or baking dish with sesame oil.
- Layer the lasagna: Dip your wonton wrappers quickly in water to moisten them. Place a single layer of wrappers across the bottom of the dish (overlapping is fine). Add a thin layer of the meat mixture on top, pressing it out evenly.
- Repeat: Alternate layers of wet wonton wrappers and meat filling, finishing with a final top layer of wonton wrappers. Drizzle 2 to 3 tablespoons of water or chicken broth around the edges to keep everything juicy.
- Steam to cook: Cover the baking dish tightly. Place it inside a large, deep skillet or pan filled with an inch of boiling water (or use a steamer basket), cover the pan with a lid, and steam over medium-low heat for 20 to 25 minutes until the pork is completely cooked through.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from heat, let it rest for a couple of minutes, then top with chili crisp, sliced green onions, and a drizzle of soy sauce or sesame oil. Slice and serve warm.
